Woven / Reed
Reed gives, holds, pushes back. These loosely woven baskets are defined by how they live outside, and engage in the elements. I leave them unfinished, which allows them to move more freely and integrate into the landscape rather than sit apart from it.
I hypothesize that their presence + openness invites the body + mind of the viewer into the landscape — and through that conceptual inhabitation, the places the baskets exist in becomes felt rather than seen.
